Joel Etienne-Clark is setting up a team for players of Dominican heritage

Footballers of Dominican heritage are being invited to take part in trials for a new football team.

Joel Etienne-Clark is looking to form a new football team made up predominantly of players of Dominican heritage.

The trials will take place at Goals Dagenham on Thursday, running from 4.30-5pm for which a £7 subscription fee is payable.

Those lucky enough to progress through the initial trials will then have a chance to represent the new team in a friendly on Sunday.

The prospective team are due to face Leyton Athletic, formerly Wadham Lodge, of the Essex Senior League at 1pm at Loxford Lane on Sunday, when it is hoped plenty of people will be in attendance to cheer on the sides.

Etienne-Clark is hopeful the trials will uncover players of the right skill level to join the prospective team.
