A goal in either half saw Daggers pick up their first points of the season with a 2-0 win at Hartlepool United.
Luke Howell put the visitors in front with just five minutes on the clock before skipper Abu Ogogo’s strike just before the halfway point of the second period saw Wayne Burnett’s side come away victorious.
Burnett kept faith with the side that lost out late on at Burton Albion on Saturday, but new signing Christian Doidge featured on the bench.
And they couldn’t have got off to a better start really when Jamie Cureton laid the ball on to Howell who tried his luck from 20 yards and his deflected effort got the better of Flinders.
Ashley Hemmings curled a free-kick wide of the target, before the hosts began to get into the game and Jonathan Franks scuffed a shot wide of Liam O’Brien’s goal.
Cureton fired over after working his way into some space just past the midway point in the half and Franks went close again though after some good work down the left from Ryan Brobbel.
But just like on Saturday, Daggers would hold a 1-0 lead at the break.
However the hosts came out and the transfer-listed Luke James forced O’Brien into a smart stop early on, before Brad Walker’s free-kick was deflected behind for a corner.
The pressure started to mount on the visitors and only the intervention of Andre Boucaud and Ogogo prevented the hosts from levelling after a poor back pass put the visitors in trouble.
Colin Cooper’s side may well have been having the majority of possession but the visitors added a second when Cureton turned provider once again on 64 minutes and laid it across for Ogogo whose shot found a way past Flinders off the post.
Flinders and O’Brien were called into action within a matter of seconds as they denied Boucaud and Franks respectively.
The hosts continued to plug away and O’Brien smartly denied an acrobatic effort from Neil Austin, but the visitors made the long trip back with a welcome three points.
