Shrewd business from Still to bring back Strevens says Benson

Former Dagenham & Redbridge striker Paul Benson is hoping to come out on top against former team-mate on Saturday.
Former Daggers striker Paul Benson believes the re-signing of former strike partner Ben Strevens by boss John Still is a shrewd signing for the club.
The 33-year-old will make his first return to Victoria Road in a playing capacity since leaving the club to join Charlton Athletic in August 2010.
In another twist to the tale, Benson, now playing for Cheltenham Town on loan from Swindon Town, will go up against his friend and former Daggers strike-partner Ben Strevens, who rejoined Still’s side on transfer deadline day last week.
The former Charlton man admits he only wishes he was playing alongside Strevens and not up against him.
“I talked to Strevs after he made the move and wished him the best of luck,” said Benson.
“I loved playing alongside Strevs and I would definitely prefer to be playing with him, rather than against him. “It’s a great signing by Stilly to bring him in. I believe he will do really well back at Daggers as he has the experience they need.
“He is a great player and I know it’ll be a good battle on Saturday against him.
“But hopefully over the course of the season I can score a few more than him!”
