Midfielder Frankie Raymond has completed his move from Eastbourne Borough to Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 21-year-old has signed a one-year deal, with an option of another, at Victoria Road after passing his medical with the club yesterday.

His former employees Eastbourne Borough had revealed on Sunday that the 21-year-old had signed a deal with Wayne Burnett’s side, and the ex-Reading and Gillingham man came through the medical with no issues as he rubber stamped his return to the Football League.

Raymond has been given a year’s contract with the League Two outfit, and new boss Burnett admits he’s now got to grab the opportunity with both hands.

“We have signed him and he’s passed his medical. He’s a good footballer and now we’ll see if he can put a bit of pressure on the other midfielders at the club,” said Burnett.

“He’s come out of the professional game and had a bit of men’s football where he’s had to grow and learn the game. He’s got a nice touch and now he has the opportunity to come back and prove he’s got what it takes.”
