Dutch Division One side VVV Venlo are reporting the signing of Daggers winger Medy Elito on a two-year deal.

The 23-year-old’s signing was confirmed on the club’s website this morning, and he could feature in their pre-season friendly against Porto tomorrow.

Venlo’s football adviser Stan Valckx said: “After the departure of Reimerink we were looking for a new winger. Medy is a two-footed fast winger that thing can bring what we are looking for. He can provide assists and score himself. Hopefully he can participate in the match against FC Porto on Wednesday already.“

And Elito added: “I am happy that I can play in the Premier League and I’m trying to make my contribution to the ambitions of this club. Attacking and attractive football suits me. I will do everything to win the hearts of the audience Venlo win.”

A fee will have been agreed between the two clubs, with Elito having a year left to run on his current deal with the Daggers.

But the Victoria Road outfit released a statement confirming terms had been agreed between the two sides after Elito had submitted a transfer request, but no deal was complete.

The statement read: “Following a request from Medy Elito for a transfer to Dutch side VVV Venlo, due to personal reasons, the club have agreed terms for the midfielder.

“Both clubs expect the transfer to go through by the end of this week or early next week at the latest.”
