League Cup draw revealed

Dagenham & Redbridge will face Brentford at home after the draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup was made this morning.

The Daggers are yet to record a win in the competition since their move to the Football League in 2007, but went close last time out as Farid El Alagui’s last-gasp effort for League One runners-up Brentford saw them emerge 3-2 victors after goals from Josh Scott and Rhys Murphy.

And standing in their way of a first success once again are Mark Warburton’s Championship new boys.

The ties are due to be played on either August 11-12 after the Daggers League Two opener the weekend before, and they will find out their fate when the Football League fixtures are released tomorrow.

Former Dagger Sam Saunders could make a return to Victoria Road for the match, while if selected new goalkeeper Liam O’Brien may face the side he left earlier in the summer.
