Dagenham & Redbridge assistant manager Darren Currie wants to put on a show for the BT Sport cameras this weekend.

Daggers make the trip up north to face National League strugglers Chester, in an early 12.30pm kick-off for the cameras, and Currie wants them to perform and show off what they’re made of.

“It’s great for everyone concerned and hopefully we put on a show and get the points that we want,” he said.

“The fact that it’s on television, hopefully we can perform, but at the end of the day we want to go in there and win the game so however it comes we’ll take it.”

Currie is under no illusions of the task set out for them as they’ve failed to win on the road since their first away match on the season when they picked up a 2-1 victory against Boreham Wood on August 8.

“It’s going to be another tough game, we keep talking about these tough games, the last two have been big powerful sides that ask questions of you and we’ve stood up and been counted in both games.

“Whether you’re playing the top or the bottom, there is not much in between the teams, all of them are difficult contests and we’ll go there expecting a tough game.

“But like I’ve probably said on a number of occasions if we perform well and work as hard as we have the last two games, we’ll go there confident of winning the game.”

The assistant revealed he doesn’t know too much about their opponents but they will study the side and set out a game plan.

“Not personally, but we’ll get reports on them or go through reports and I’ll have a look at their recent games on the video and we’ll analyse what their strengths and weaknesses are, like we do every team and we try work out our game plan around that.

“That’s been evident the last two games, as we’ve had to compete, we made the first and foremost we had to fight and compete and we’ve done that.

“We’ll analyse what Chester do and hopefully come up with the answers.”
