Pre-season friendly: Concord Rangers 0 Dagenham & Redbridge 2

Jamie Cureton and Luke Howell were on target as Daggers picked up a win at Conference South side Concord Rangers.

Trialists George Porter and Andre Boucaud both started for the Daggers, while Ashley Hemmings featured for the first time since signing on Monday.

The visitors spent the opening exchanges on top, with skipper Abu Ogogo firing just over before Ashley Chambers chipped home goalkeeper Jamie Butler, but the effort was over the bar.

However, the Daggers took the lead on 23 minutes when Porter played a lovely throughball for Cureton and he supplied the finish past an onrushing Butler.

The hosts started to come into the game and Ben Greenhalgh had a couple of strikes on goal, but there was nothing to trouble Liam O’Brien in the Daggers goal.

Steve Cawley fizzed an effort just wide of the target early in the second period, but chances were few and far between.

Carmarthen Town striker Chris Doidge came off the bench for the Daggers, and went close to making it two when he got on the end of Matt Partridge’s deep cross.

But five minutes from time the visitors made sure of the win when a quick breakaway resulted in Bradley Goldberg pulling the ball back for Luke Howell who slotted home.

Wayne Burnett’s side are back in action tomorrow night when a Daggers XI head to Billericay Town.

Daggers: O’Brien (Cousins 64), Partridge, Connors (Green 25), Doe (Gayle 64), Gayle (Saah 46), Boucaud (Howell 64), Porter, Ogogo, Cureton (Doidge 64), Chambers, Hemmings (Goldberg 50).
