Barkingside managed to bring an end to their ten game losing streak as they nicked a point off high-flying Hoddesdon Town.

Side remain bottom of the Essex Senior League and still searching for their first win of the campaign but they moved in the right direction at Lowfield.

The hosts got off to a strong start and went ahead in the eighth minute thanks to Harry Bushell but his goal was cancelled out four minutes later thanks to Antione Akinola.

Michael Walther’s men managed to defend and hold onto a point to help them end their miserable run.

Side were boosted by the return of attacker Raphael Duyile who re-joined from Stansted during the week.

They will now look to build on that point when they take on Woodford Town on Friday evening.

Barkingside: Breckenridge, Wackers-Kyriako, Barlow, Tyrrell (Kenneally 56), Petrie, Imre, Akinola, Francis, Obisanya (Kayembe 76), Duyile, Mboni (Alabi 74).
