Ryman One North: Barkingside 1 Ware 1; Chatham Town 2 Redbridge 1

Barkingside had to settle with a point on Non League Day against Ware at Cricklefield.

The game got off to an even start, but the lively Jason Fontaine played his part for Matt Frew’s outfit and it was his delivery in that allowed them to take the lead on 19 minutes.

His centre was met by the head of Lewis Francis who slotted past Ware goalkeeper Rhys Madden.

But the lead lasted just seven minutes when Kieran Bishop capitalised on a defensive error from the hosts to slot home.

Both teams tried to go for the win in the second half, and both struck the post, however, they had to settle with a point apiece.

Barkingside are back in action tomorrow at Cricklefield when they host Needham Market tomorrow.

Chatham Town 2 Redbridge 1

A late goal from Brian Moses proved in vain as the Motormen suffered defeat in Kent.

It remained goalles until the 35th minute when Joe Loft struck the opener for the Chats and the doubled that on the stroke of half time when Austin Gacheru found a way past Redbridge goalkeeper Mark Parker.

But Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton’s side continue to plug away and gave themselves a lifeline nine minutes from time when Moses popped up.

However, the Motormen couldn’t find the elusive equaliser and now will hope for better luck when they travel to Romford on Wednesday night.
