The Premier League’s bottom two go head-to-head at Loughton Cricket Club on Saturday.
Woodford Wells face a crucial encounter this weekend when they face a relegation decider against Loughton.
Both sides find themselves in the bottom two going into the penultimate weekend of action and defeat, plus results elsewhere could see the loser relegated.
Despite seeing last weekend’s clash with Wanstead fall foul to weather with Wells on top, skipper Rory Ellison is confident his players have come into form at just the right time as they bid to preserve their Premier Division status.
“It was frustrating we couldn’t finish the game at the weekend,” he said.
“Especially when you see that Loughton picked up a great win over Brentwood, it makes it all the more disappointing, but that’s cricket. We move on and get ready for this weekend.
“The winner stays up and the loser goes down, it is as simple as that. Obviously we’ll have an eye on other results, with Ardleigh Green and Hainault & Clayhall also playing in a big match.
“But in recent weeks we have been able to get the same side out and we are playing well at the moment, probably our best cricket, which is good.
“Keeping the same team is important and the players are all working well as a team and that is what we need going into this crucial encounter.
“I have full confidence in my team and know they are all good players who can get us out of this situation.”
