Oakfield Parkonians got the better of Essex League Division Two rivals Basildon after a fine display from their bowlers.

The hosts chose to bat first, but Selvam Ramasamy and Eshun Kalley (3-45) struck with the new ball to wipe out the top five for a combined total of nine runs.

Anujan Thiru (3-47) also got in the act, before Ramasamy (4-32) returned to wrap up the innings on 144 in the 32nd over.

Dave Rai fell cheaply in reply for Parks, but Neil Brathwaite (32) and Haris Khan (29) got them on course for victory.

And although Ramya Upadhyay and Faisal Bhatti were both dismissed cheaply, Parks saw Ryan Karuna (21 not out) and captainn Jibran Azam (25 not out) steer them to a five-wicket win inside 28 overs.

A third win of the campaign leaves Parks in sixth place, two points behind mid-table rivals Wickford and 30 clear of the relegation zone with a third of the season now gone.
