Jack Carter Pavilion outift were beaten at Colchester & East Essex last time out

Hainault & Clayhall will hope to earn their first Shepherd Neame Essex League Division One win of the season on Saturday when they host Hutton.

The Jack Carter Pavilion side suffered disappointment in their opening league game of the season last weekend, going down by seven wickets at Colchester & East Essex.

After losing the toss, Hainault were put into bat on what was a damp wicket at Castle Park.

Though skipper Zoheb Sharif opened up with a top score of 50, the visitors toiled on what was a difficult pitch for batsman, eventually closing on 152-9.

Ryan Hurst, Arshad Mughal and Sharif each took a wicket with the ball to check Colchester’s reply, but the hosts completed a successful chase inside 21 overs.

It was a disappointing start to life back in Division One for Hainault.

However, the Jack Carter Pavilion side will hope their first home league game of the season brings a first league success of the new term.
