Skipper happy with life with four to play
Wanstead lost top spot in the table at the weekend following their draw with Chelmsford at Overton Drive.
However, skipper Arfan Akram was not overly disappointed with the result and remained philosophical, as usual.
“I’m not going to lose any sleep over Saturday’s result,” he said, “It’s not the end of the world.
“I was happy with our bowling, but I thought we didn’t apply ourselves too well with the bat. Having said that, I thought we were a little unlucky with some of the wickets.
“We’re happy where we are with four games to go, we’re still very much in touch, he added.
There are four games to go in the Essex League Premier Division and the skipper is relishing each and every one of them.
“The best team under pressure will succeed,” he said, “I know we can handle that pressure, I’m sure of it.”
The T20 Regional finals at Bury St Edmunds were washed out yesterday, and have been re-arranged for Sunday at Swardeston Cricket Club in Norfolk.
The Herons skipper sighed, “They’re even further away now!”
