Cruiserweight Wadi Camacho has recorded four straight wins in his pro career and looks for number five on the Matchroom promotion at Alexandra Palace on Saturday night.

The 27-year-old is in a hurry to move through the ranks and predicts he will be fighting for titles before the end of next year.

“I feel I’m ready to move up in class and with a few more fights I hope to take on the top cruiserweights,” he said.

The fighter, who earned England honours as an amateur at the local Peacock club, now sets his sights on pro success guided by manager/trainer Brian Lawrence at Canning Town’s TKO gym.

The 6ft 3ins tall Camacho (left), who has to watch his weight to stay at cruiserweight, admits he could later be tempted to move up to heavyweight, but for now he stays at cruiser and awaits news of his opponent.

Also on the bill is local hope Ryan Taylor, a hard-hitting lightweight held to a draw in his first pro contest, but winner of all five bouts since that debut.

The 24-year-old trains at Tony Sims’ Hainault gym and has shown increasing punch power, stopping two of his last three victims.
