Debutant Neil Houlsby blew away the competition to win Saturday’s Valentines Park run in 17 minutes 37 seconds.

Ilford’s Stephen Philcox was some way short of his best, but was still able to take second place in 18.10.

Meanwhile, Nigel Swinburne of Dagenham 88 Runners was third in 18.19.

Vicki Groves, of Barking Road Runners, was the fastest female finisher in a personal best 25.18 for 34th place overall.
