Muir leads way for club at Hadleigh
Malcolm Muir led home the Ilford AC contingent at Saturday’s Essex Championships in Hadleigh.
The V35 runner came home in 16th place of a field of 193 finishers in a time of 51 minutes 14 seconds.
Stephen Philcox was the next Ilford runner to complete the course as he came home in 38th spot in 55.27.
Sixteen places further back was Peter Clinch who stopped the clock in 57.46 for 54th, while Paul Holloway finished 73rd in 60.12.
V50 athlete Terry Knightley occupied 81st place in 61.08, five places in front of Sam Rahman who finished exactly a minute further back.
Neil Crisp came home in 104th after clocking 64.20 to round off the team’s challenge.
Some of the club’s youngsters were also involved and Alex Richards came home in 15th place in the under-20s men’s race, while Thomas King was 17th in the under-17 race.
Harry Martin represented the Cricklefield-based club in the under-15 event, finishing in 22nd spot.
