A-level results special
A-LEVEL students in Redbridge were celebrating last week as they raked in record results.
Tears of joy – and some of sadness – swept through the borough last Thursday as nervous teenagers finally learned their fate.
Scores of 18-year-olds are now bracing themselves for further education after landing spots at universities around the country.
And bright pupils at Ilford County High School, Fremantle Road, Barkingside and Woodford County High School, Hig Road, Woodford Green, both won a place among the best 50 schools in the entire country.
Cllr Michael Stark, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “I am very pleased that so many Redbridge young people have achieved such excellent A-level results and will be able to continue on to the next stage of their education, whether it be in higher education or on training schemes in the work place.
“Students and staff are to be congratulated on their commitment and hard work in achieving these outstanding results.”
The Recorder shared in the delight and despair at schools across the borough. Here we present an online photo gallery of A-level results day in Redbridge.
