Year 6 pupils waved goodbye to primary school as they were given a graduation ceremony to mark the special occasion.

Highlands Primary School, Highlands Gardens, Ilford, wore mortar boards and were each presented with a scroll.

Parents were invited to watch the ceremony and enjoy the songs, poetry and music from the pupils’ time at the school which the children re-enacted.

Angela Sparkes, who works at the school, said: “Our Year 6 pupils shared their reflections of their learning journey at Highlands, remembering their achievements and successes, their friendships and challenges. The children and parents were all a little emotional, at the same time looking forward to their next steps as they move on to high school.”
