A Woodford Green mum has raised more than £18,000 for the children’s hospice that treated her daughter before she died.
Mel Field organised musical concert Molly Field Productions: One Moment in Time to tour Forest School, in Snaresbrook, and Churchfields Junior School, South Woodford, to raise the incredible amount.
Mel and her family have been helping Haven House Children’s Hospice since eight-year-old Molly died of a brain tumour in 2012.
There was a memorial for her at the hospice, in High Road, Woodford Green, and her family stayed in the hospice flat until the funeral.
Mel worked with the Raw Youth Theatre and Performance groups to put on the show, which featured hits from West End musicals.
She said: “It really was a very special evening and I’m so pleased that we are able to keep Molly’s memory alive with these events.”
Molly’s family have raised almost £73,000 to date and plan to do more in the future.
Haven House chief executive Mike Palfreman said: “Mel’s support of Haven House is nothing short of amazing and yet again she has pulled off another great fundraiser which will do so much to support local life-limited children and families.”
