The person killed after being hit by a train at Seven Kings station on Friday afternoon was a woman in her 20s.
The woman, from Ilford, was pronounced dead at the scene by the London Ambulance Service after they were called at 4.17pm to reports of a person on the tracks.
The service sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and a duty officer, with an air ambulance also seen to stop outside the Palmer Catholic Academy, of Aldborough Road South.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police, who attended with Redbridge police officers, said the woman’s death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
An inquest is due to be opened later this week.
