Woman in 80s treated for smoke inhalation following Goodmayes kitchen fire

An elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation following a kitchen fire in Barley Lane, Goodmayes, this afternoon.

Three fire engines and 15 firefighters were called to the small fire at 5pm, which had been brought under control before their arrival on the scene.

An ambulance crew was called to assist the woman, reported to be 80, and she was taken to King George Hospital in Barley Lane, Goodmayes.
