Star Wars and Star Trek books were read out to youngsters, who also got to pose with their favourite characters.

Wanstead Library, in Spratt Hall Road, was covered in decorations, and Han Solo and Princess Leia looked over the children as they enjoyed the story telling.

The special day, dedicated to the cult films, was carried out at libraries across the borough, including South Woodford and Woodford Green.
