Police failed to find the man who was reportedly trespassing on the train tracks leading to delays and cancellations on the Shenfield to Liverpool Street line.

The British Transport Police (BTP) was called by Network Rail at around 8.40 this morning to trace the man on the line between Ilford and Manor Park stations.

The Metropolitan Police helped in the search and sent its helicopter to assist.

Two trains were cancelled and there were delays of up to 15 minutes but services are now running as scheduled.

Enquiries are ongoing and if you have any information you should contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 83 of 30062014.
