Unexploded device found in Woodford garden

A hazard zone was set up around Princes Avenue yesterday following the discovery of an ordnance shell.

Emergency services were called to the road at 4.50pm after the device was unearthed in the rear garden of a property.

It was removed by police and residents were allowed back into their homes by 6.15pm.
