Trains to Stratford cancelled as person hit by train at Ilford station

A person has been hit by a train at Ilford station this afternoon, with trains cancelled earlier as emergency services responded to the incident.

A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed they were called at 4.35pm to reports of a person being hit by a train at the station on Cranbrook Road.

BTP officers and members of the London Ambulance Service are currently on the scene.

Greater Anglia have confirmed that the lines into and out of London have now re-opened.

There is no update on the condition of the person who was hit, although eyewitnesses have reported seeing the London Air Ambulance land in the town centre.

There are still delays on TfL Rail and Greater Anglia services.

The London Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
