The Boots UK trainees, who pitched a stall at the Exchange Ilford, in High Road on Friday, were on hand to answer people’s questions about the condition.

The team, led by Salma Jalil, wanted to highlight the support that Macmillan, who are in partnership with Boots, can offer.

The pre-registration pharmacists focused their event on raising awareness of bowel cancer, which they had identified as an important health topic in Redbridge.

Salma said: “With the number of people affected by cancer in the UK expected to double to four million by 2030, never has Macmillan’s work been more important.

“I am proud to have the opportunity to use my skills and experience to support Macmillan and help them reach out to more people affected by cancer in our local community.”
