Each year BGC Partners commemorates its employees lost in the 2001 terrorist attacks and donates all global revenue to charity.

Stars including Joan Collins, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, and singer Mitch Winehouse, visited its Canary Wharf office to back one of the recipients, the Haven House hospice.

They joined brokers to trade for the day.

Chas Hodges, Phil “The Power” Taylor, Barry Hearn, Steve Davies, Vicki Michelle and Kevin Adams all joined in to benefit the charity, which is based in High Road, Woodford Green.

Staff and children from the hospice also attended.

Mike Palfreman, Haven House’s chief executive, said: “We are so pleased to be involved with BGC, it’s such an uplifting day and something our celebrity supporters, children and families really get involved with.

“Last year the day raised an amazing £40,000 for Haven House and we’re hoping that this year’s figures will be just as impressive.”
