Susan and David Clements, both bus drivers, took their family along canal routes from Birmingham to Stratford and raised over £1,000 and counting.

Susan and daughter Stephanie rode in a car alongside David and Daniel who cycled 164 miles over two days for the charity who train and supply guide dogs for blind and partially sighted people.

Susan said: “We have a friend who has a guide dog so we know how long they have to wait for them.

“And when we looked up the list of charities, they came quite low down on the donations that they get.

“Everyone seems to go for cancer charities or children’s charities so we thought we’d do something different and go for something close to our hearts.”

They set off from Birmingham at 9am on the Saturday and arrive, covered in mud from the unpredictable weather, outside Westfield Stratford City at around 7pm on Sunday.
