Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel honours young footballers in Chigwell

A premiership goalkeeper presented trophies and medals to young footballers as part of a national competition.

Tottenham Hotspur player Brad Friedel, visited Chigwell School, High Road, Chigwell to host the Essex and Chigwell round of the new Independent Schools FA U11 national tournament.

The final saw St Edmund’s Prep from Ware, who won the game, take on Forest School, Snaresbrook, for the regional title.

Despite the defeat, Chigwell School has already secured its place in the national finals.

More than 125 schools from across the country have entered the competition which features 12 regional rounds before the finals are played at the newly opened St George’s Park national football centre in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire on April 17.
