What do you think about the plan for a 42-storey tower on the former Bodgers site?

Residents have the opportunity to view proposals and give feedback about the 380, studio, one and two bedroom apartments envisioned for the development on Station Road, Ilford.

Between 2pm and 8pm tomorrow (Thursday, June 14) interested parties can peruse the proposals and meet staff involved with the project.

As well as acquiring the former Bodgers site, Access Self Storage bought the Bodgers Arcade - the passageway between Station Road and the High Road.

It will also be asking resident how they want the space to be transformed.

“We own the Bodgers arcade and we are trying to make sure it is a good route through to the High Road,” an Access Self Storage spokesman said.

“At the moment you wouldn’t want to walk down there on a dark night.

“We have put together two options and we are asking for the public’s opinions.”

Option one has a more nostalgic feel to the design and gives “a nod to the history of Bodgers”.

Tiled flooring coupled with vintage lighting would pay homage to the beloved shopping venue.

Option two has links to Ilford Photo company with a modern twist and would feature an optical tunnel and light installation.
