As part of Diwali celebrations, the largest religious and cultural event for Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists, Redbridge Sewa dressed tourists at Trafalgar Square and raised £500 for the Mayor of London’s Charity Appeal.

Ravi Bhanot, of Green Lane, Ilford, who is on the organising Diwali in London Committee said Diwali is for everyone.

“London is the capital of the world in many senses and we want Londoners and tourist to experience the spiritual and cultural aspects of Diwali,” he said.

“What better way of experiencing Indian culture for women than to try wearing a sari and dancing in a Garba Indian dance.
