Redbridge Labour group set for overall majority - with three wards yet to be called

The Redbridge Labour group look to be on course for an overall majority in the local elections with three wards still to be announced.

Ilford South MP Mike Gapes (@MikeGapes) tweeted: “Tory Lib Dem coalition lose Redbridge.

Labour has a majority on the council for the first time ever in 50 yr history of the Borough.”

With nine seats still up for grabs, Labour has secured 30 seats, the Conservatives, led by Keith Prince, have 21 and the Liberal Democrats have three.

The three wards remaining are Cranbrook, Snaresbrook and Newbury.
