The borough’s first festival of professional theatre kicks off on Thursday.

The Labyrinth Festival of Theatre will open with AndOn Theatre’s Bits and Box, which will be staged from 5.30pm at the Kenneth More Theatre, in Oakfield Road, Ilford.

From 6pm, Redbridge Drama Centre, in Churchfields, South Woodford, will present the original production Heydays from The Paper Birds.

The show, featuring residents aged 55 and over, will commemorate the First World War by looking back at the last 100 years in the borough.

Heydays will also be performed at the same time and place on Friday.

The festival will run until June 29, with shows for both adults and children.
