He is due to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates today.

A man from Redbridge has been charged with terror offences.

Ahmed Aweys, 32, of Redbridge was charged with three offences of dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Abdulaziz Omer Munye, 26, of north London was charged with one offence under section 2 of Terrorism Act 2006.

Both men were charged yesterday (Thursday, 9 August) and will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates today (Friday, August 10).

These two charges are part of four arrests made by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command as part of an ongoing operation.

At 10am yesterday police arrested a 30-year-old woman on suspicion of collection of information, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. She remains in police custody.

Previously, on Wednesday, April 18 a 29-year-old man from east London was arrested on suspicion of terror offences.

He remains on bail to return to a south-London police station in mid-August.
