Redbridge hit-and-run leaves pensioner injured in hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man aged in his 70s was hospitalised following a hit-and-run.

Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at around 6.40pm yesterday (March 11) to Ridgeway Gardens at the junction with Redbridge Lane East, Redbridge.

A pedestrian had been struck and was taken to hospital where he remains.

His injuries are not life threatening.

Enquiries into the circumstances, including work to trace the vehicle involved, remain ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the East Area Command Unit via 101 quoting CAD5868/11March.
