As part of the national fundraising day for Comic Relief, a group dropped their trays in the college’s canteen to perform the dance which has grown in popularity around the world.

The college, in Barley Lane, Little Heath, is backing Red Nose Day in a number of ways, including holding a fancy dress catwalk in its library.

Organiser Sinead Collins described some of the costumes which staff and students have worn today.

She said: “I’ve got Jack Sparrow and Green Ivy in front of me.

“I’ve seen Batman, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, we’ve got a man dressed as Wonder Woman and I’ve seen Mario and Luigi.”

Money for good causes worldwide is also being raised through a cake sale by catering students while level three beauty qualification students have been offering face-painting.
