Police stand down from suspicious package in Hainault

Police were called to the scene of a possible exploding device in Hainault.

Officers arrived at Marylon Road at 1.50pm, today (Friday, January 12), following reports of a suspicious package.

Residents said they were told to stay inside their homes and to keep away from windows.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “We were at the scene but we have just stood down.

“The item is non-suspicious.”
