Officers are searching South Park, in South Park Road, to locate Seyed Khan.

Seyed, 49, was last seen at work in A-Z carpets, 717-719 High Road, at around 5pm on January 24.

He stepped outside to take a phone call and has not been seen or heard from since.

He is described as an Asian man, around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with short black hair.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers.

Seyed was reported missing from Thamesmead, which he is known to frequent along with Plumstead, Woolwich and Ilford.

The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command has taken over the investigation in to his whereabouts under the supervision of Detective Inspector Richard Leonard.

DI Leonard said: “It is completely out of character for Mr Khan to be missing and we are deeply concerned to find his whereabouts. I urge anyone with information to contact my team without delay.”
