Man hit by train at Goodmayes Station: Severe delays between Romford and Stratford

Greater Anglia and TfL Rail services from Shenfield to Liverpool Street are running a delayed service after a man was struck by a train at Goodmayes Station.

Paramedics and police were called to Goodmayes Station on July 31 at around 6.54am to reports of a person being struck by a train.

There they found a man on the tracks whose injuries were consistent with somebody who had been hit by a train.

He has been taken to a hospital where his injuries will be assessed.

It is not currently known what the extent of the injuries are.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “The incident is being investigated but is not being treated as suspicious.

“BTP officers are currently conducting inquiries to identify and inform the next of kin.

“Its requested that any information about the incident is passed on to the BTP by contacting 08000405040 and quoting Log 70 of today.”

Limited Greater Anglia and Tfl Rail services are now running with no trains stopping at Goodmayes.

Goodmayes station is currently exit only and bus Routes 364 and EL3 are currently diversion following the closure of Goodmayes Road.
