People carrier containing four car engines catches fire near Ilford Hill

Ten firefighters were called out this morning after a people carrier containing four car engines caught alight.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene at about 5.50am to the A406 between the Ilford Hill junction and the Barking flyover.

A firefighter from Barking Fire Station said it took about and hour for them to put the fire out.

The incident, which was also attended by the police, caused heavy traffic.
