The library, in Goodmayes Lane, ran the workshop to entertain five to eight-year-olds during half-term.

The youngsters drew plans for the kitchen decorations before turning their ideas into the finished articles.

Libraries across Redbridge held a host fun events last week, including wooden spoon puppet-making at Hainault, origami lessons in South Woodford, face-painting and a junior film club at Gants Hill Library and African storytelling, crafts and dance in Wanstead.

Brick Lane Comedy Festival cancelled after opposition from community groups

A comedy festival in east London due to feature acts including Al Murray, Alan Davies and Ed Byrne has been cancelled because of “heavy opposition from local community groups”.
