Two cars collided in Horns Road near the junction with Buntingbridge Road shortly before 1am.

Firefighters said police were treating the incident as a hit and run.

One ambulance was called and checked the 23-year-old woman over but she did not need hospital treatment.

A Redbridge Police spokesman said a 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene after being tracked down by dog units and taken to an east London police station.

Enquires continue.
