Children at Uphall Primary School, Uphall Road, listened to a Chinese zodiac story and learnt about the Year of the Snake.

The Sinman Dance Company performed traditional fan, ribbon and umbrella dances as well as some of the children having a go themselves.

Religious education teacher Tricia Kheejoo said: “At Uphall we feel that it is really important to acknowledge and celebrate all religions and cultures. It was wonderful to have the dance company visit our school and help us to celebrate the Year of the Snake! It really was a colourful and memorable day for us all!”

Chinese New Year will be on February 10.
