A fantastic fresh fruit party was enjoyed by children at one synagogue’s nursery who learnt about healthy eating as well as trees.
The children at Chigwell and Hainault Synagogue in Limes Avenue, Hainault spent a week learning about health eating as part of the Tu Bishvat festival.
This is sometimes known as the festival of trees and in modern day Israel promotes ecological awareness.
The children planted trees as well as eating different types of fruit.
Melanie Kaye, headteacher, said: “The sun shone as all the children took turns ensuring the trees were planted properly. The children will continue to water the trees regularly and watch their progress as they blossom.”
