Anna Baum, 16 just finished her GCSEs at Trinity Catholic High School and is now flying off to study air passenger service skills in Hertfordshire.

She said: “I couldn’t sleep, literally couldn’t sleep, I think it did better than I expected, I’m really shocked I got an A in drama.”

Anna decided over the past year that she did not want to do A-levels and so registered to do the course which starts in September.

“It’s do it’s something I have always wanted to do,” she said. “It’s something I’m interested in doing, travelling, learning new things and getting to meet new people. I’d like to fly long haul.”

Despite sometimes struggling in previous years at the school in Mornington Road,

Woodford Green, she managed to knuckle down in Year 11 and the grades to get onto the course.

“I didn’t think I would get one GCSE, I pulled my finger out and I did work” she added.
