Around 15 dance schools across London run by choreographer Honey Kalaria have been consolidated into the academy in Eastern Avenue, Newbury Park, to run weekend classes.

Classes are open to all aged four and above, with a “Bollywood dance and performing arts” course for dancers with serious aspirations.

It has been accredited by bodies including the World Dance Council.

A “Keep fit with Bollywood and Bhangra” course will help those wishing to take up dance as a leisure activity, taking in other styles including Latin and hip-hop.

Miss Kalaria said: “We hope to help students build their confidence, self-esteem and career prospects within the international entertainment industry as well as giving professionals the chance to develop as performers, dance instructors and choreographers.”

Bhangra act H Dhami and former Big Brother contestant Deana Uppal attended an open day at the academy this month.

Anyone interested in joining the academy should call 07850 875087 or visit www.honeysdanceacademy.com.

The academy also has a centre in north London.
