A nightclub which has battled to open longer for several years will now reportedly be closed “until court actions have settled”.
Applications to Redbridge Council in the hope of extending licensing hours at Funky Mojoe, High Road, South Woodford, have been continuously refused after opposition from residents.
The club’s latest attempt to stay open was to introduce an extra £20 entrance fee so customers could bring their own alcohol, as a way to get around licensing rules. But now its owners have closed the doors.
Cllr Richard Hoskins, said: “It is welcome news that Mojoes will not reopen until court actions are settled.”
Funky Mojoe was unavailable to comment.
