The stretch of the Rover Roding flowing through Redbridge has been placed on flood alert.
The Environment Agency (EA) issued the warning for the Lower Riving Roding, which goes through Woodford, Wanstead, Ilford and East Ham, this morning.
It is the third flood alert put in place by the EA for that stretch of the river since Christmas.
Its website says: “The lower reaches of the River Roding has risen overnight due to water working its way down the catchment following the rainfall earlier this week.
“River levels are expected to remain high during the day on Wednesday and begin to drop this evening.
“A dry day is expected with showers passing through the area overnight.”
The EA has said it will give an update on the river levels this evening.
