Last night hundreds of children from across Redbridge took part in the biennial Redbridge Schools Choral Festival at the Royal Albert Hall.
The event is a collaboration by primary and secondary schools across the borough to showcase some of the most talented musicians and singers and give young people the chance to perform at the famous venue.
There was a wide variety of music ranging from traditional Indian and African arrangements, to the Beatles, to well loved classical pieces like Jerusalem.
The mayor of Redbridge Cllr Felicity Banks was in attendance and was impressed by the youngsters, she said: “It’s been a real pleasure to be here. Everyone should feel very proud of themselves for putting on this fantastic show, the mums and dads, the teachers and especially the children themselves. Redbridge you are the best!”
The show which is put on every two years, largely thanks to the Redbridge Music Service, was recorded for a DVD to be released later in the year.
